Artissima Fair 2015

Also this year, the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte, thanks to its commitment and its activities aimed at the training of young artists, will take part in Artissima in the in Mostra section, dedicated to museums and foundations from across the regional territory. The Foundation will host the young artist Andrea De Stefani (1982 Arzignano, VI) who will take part with the work Dry Landscape (Polygonal Lasso), 2013.
Dry Landscape (Polygonal Lasso) is a garden made up of hybrid entities, the matrices of which are rooted in an interstitial scenario, a terrain vague in which wild vegetation and industrial settlements compenetrate. The formal and ideal re-mixing between natural and artificial elements is materialised, concentrated in a polygonal area designed for contemplation.
In Mostra is a special exhibition project within Artissima. Originating from the need to offer a showcase for contemporary art collections and the artistic institutions of the Piedmont region, in 2015 In Mostra will be reinvented as an independent exhibition, covering 700 square metres of exhibition space at the fair. In Mostra 2015, curated by Stefano Collicelli Cagol, revolves around the concept of “inclination”. The immediate reference is to a personal tendency towards something (for example, we speak of an artistic, political or sexual inclination); however, the geometric metaphor implicit in the term seems to suggest an alternative, oblique geometry, in contrast with the traditional staticity of squareness.
La Fondazione Spinola will also take part in the talks organised at Artissima by RESO’, the International Network for Artist Residencies and Educational Programs. Here is the talks programme:
