Elena Mazzi
Born in 1984 in Reggio Emilia.
She studied Art History at the University of Siena. In 2011 she graduated in Visual Arts from the IUAV in Venice. She spent a study period abroad at the Royal Academy of Art (Konsthogskolan) of Stockholm. She has taken part in various group exhibitions and held various solo shows, including the ‘Collective Memory and Social Space’ exhibition at the Botkyrka Konsthall gallery in Stockholm, ‘Letters from the Sky’ at the Video Art Festival COP17 in Durban (South Africa), the IUAV Pavilion at the 14th exhibition of Cultural Heritage of Venice, ‘COMMON GROUND: projects for the Lagoon’ at Palazzetto Tito in Venice (Fondazione Bevilaqua La Masa), as well as ‘TRA/ARADA/INBETWEEN’ in Istanbul. In 2011 she was awarded the ‘Movin’ Up’ grant for a residence project in San Francisco in collaboration with the group Future Farmers. Her latest shows include ‘Volumi Contrastanti/Kontrasterande Volymer’ at the Italian Institute of Culture in Stockholm, and her participation in the Art Stays_Festival of Contemporary Art, Ptuj, Slovenia.
