Duilio Courir Award 2011
On 25 May 2011, during the award ceremony of the winners of the 30th Abbiati Prize at Villa Reale – Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan, the Associazione Nazionale Critici Musicali awarded the ‘Duilio Courir’ Prize to the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte with the following motivation:
“The Prize goes to the Progetto Musica of the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte (Poirino, Turin), which transfers the concept of atelier from art to contemporary music, year after year supporting new composers, chosen and followed by a tutor musician with the commissioning of original works, perfected during the workshops entrusted to both young and established performers. An idea of high patronage, in the spirit that animated Duilio Courir, creator and founder of the Abbiati Prize, an art critic before becoming a music critic, mindful of the contemporary element, be it visual or acoustic, interested in high and noble things as well as in the discovery and support of new talents in the arts.”
The commission was comprised of: Danilo Boaretto, Alessandro Cammarano, Franca Cella, Franco Chieco, Andrea Estero, Dino Foresio, Angelo Foletto, Enrico Girardi, Giorgio Gualerzi, Giancarlo Landini, Gian Paolo Minardi, Carla Moreni, Alessandro Mormile, Paolo Petazzi and Giangiorgio Satragni.
