Georges Aperghis: Music Project 2017

This year, with Georges Aperghis, we decided on a programme for pianoforte and electronica, and this provided the opportunity to establish a collaboration agreement with IRCAM, the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music at the Pompidou Centre in Paris.

We are very grateful to Frank Madlener, director of the centre, who allowed Giulia Lorusso and Emanuele Palumbo the young composers to whom we entrusted the new commissions to carry out intense work sessions at IRCAM to perfect the electronic part together with a formidable team: in particular, Mike Solomon for the musical IT input, Jrmie Bourgogne for the sound engineering and Mariangela Vacatello on the piano. Heartfelt thanks also go to Georges Aperghis, who while developing the transducer technique with the two composers, decided to rethink his own piece Dans le mur (2007) in a new version, especially for this occasion.

The two pieces commissioned from Giulia Lorusso and Emanuele Palumbo will be used as part of the ManiFeste-2017 season, in the Grande Salle of the Pompidou Centre.
