Compositori In Erba project 2019/2020
For the fifth school year, the Compositori in Erba music training project dedicated to primary schools in the area continues, and the new path of the Opera di Comunità begins.
The Compositori in Erba project is now in its fifth year; the results have been positive and the teaching tools have been refined over time. The aims set at the beginning of the course were multifaceted: to bring music education to a primary school in a non-conventional way, not by implementing mere literacy of the codified signs of the musical art, but by developing inventive and then compositional thinking, thus focusing on the ‘process’ of learning more than on musical knowledge. An indispensable condition of this perspective was and still is that it managed to generate fun, the joy of playing music and of musical composition.
The ‘Opera di Comunità’
By the expression Opera di Comunità reference is made to a series of artistic experiences undertaken by a territorial, scholastic, associative or cultural community.
The subject addressed will be that of Climate Change, the real and most important political issue of the new generations. This theme will determine the members of the orchestra, which will be made up 90% of plastic instruments, thus stressing two of the key ‘R’s’ in the education of the younger generations: re-use and re-cycling.
Along the preparatory path, children will also learn about the life of plastics and pollution worldwide, and at the same time they will learn how to make musical instruments out of recycled materials or plastic wrappers such as simple bottles, developing their knowledge and know-how together
