Fondazione Spinola Banna per l'Arte, Poirino (TO) (visiting professor Diego Perrone)
The residence experience at Banna was rather like living in an oxymoron: closed within a free space we could “idly create”. This provided us with privacy and a chance to get to know the others. Most importantly, we were able to enrich our human and artistic sensibilities by taking part in meetings, working seriously together, sharing, advising and collaborating. Diego Perrone taught us a fundamental thing: to keep our eyes open and “get our hands dirty” in order to discover unexplored possibilities in each of us; and not to settle down with tried and tested artistic formulas. Besides these, we have to add our encounter with Maria and Giorgio, a couple of farmers who have been living on the Banna estate for fifty years. Thanks to them we realised the piece of work exhibited in the final show.
