ALUMNI EXHIBEO

Exhibition of some of the best students from the Piedmont territory Fondazione Spinola Banna per l'arte

Alumni is the exhibition curated by the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l'Arte as part of the project entitled. ‘Dall'idea al chiodo’ (From the idea to the nail), a programme curated by Luca Beatrice as part of the Salone Off – the fringe events of the Salone del Libro in Turin – including the exhibitions staged by the ten museums and 13 art galleries of the city.

Alumni is the first exhibition that the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l'Arte proposes in an institutional space, doing away with the traditional practice of the end-of-course exhibition, to be substituted by an annual group show.
The exhibition brings together the works of several artists from the Piedmont territory who took part in the workshops organised by the FSB from 2005 to 2012: Alis/Filliol, Caretto and Spagna, Diego Scroppo, Diego Tonus, Gian Andrea Poletta, Isola & Norzi, Ludovica Carbotta, Manuele Cerutti, Namsal Siedlecki, Renato Leotta, Roberto Fassone, Valentina Roselli and Valerio Berruti. The duo Andrea Caretto and Raffaella Spagna will also be present in ZonArte, in the garden prepared by the AIAPP (Italian Association of Landscape Architects) within the Salone del Libro. ZonArte is the network that brings together the education departments of the contemporary art museums of Turin, supported and promoted by the Foundazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT in agreement with Artissima.

The works on show are the demonstration of the individual growth of the artists invited, stimulated by the training activities of the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l'Arte:
“The community living foreseen throughout the duration of the workshops, “states Gianluca Spinola, founder and creator of the Foundation, “within an agricultural estate far from the usual everyday environment, facilitated by a venue equipped with workshops and large communal spaces for both work and sharing, allows for a profitable and in-depth exchange of experiences and living heritage among the students and the visiting professors, thus facilitating both comparison and cultural/personal growth.”

On Thursday 16th May the exhibition will be open to visitors from 6pm to 11pm, free entrance. From 17th to 20th May, opening times will be 3pm to 7pm, free entrance.
